INFO
As the City of Lloyminster transitioned into a new building they adapted a new name and image for their Museum + Archives, formally known as The Lloydminster Cultural & Science Centre. Through a collaborative creative process with stakeholders, we developed a new visual identity. In addition to the information gathered through the community engagement process, we considered logistical items, including manufacturing of signage and marketing materials.

The logo is intentionally abstract, offering different interpretations to different audiences. The bold, intersecting lines within the logo are reminiscent of a roadmap, encouraging exploration and discovery. The bright, neutral colours reflect the lakes, waterways, forests, open prairies central to the natural history of the region.

The lines, shapes and colours culminate in a modern and eye-catching identity that honours local and regional artists, past and present, while also conveying an inviting and energetic feel with a sense of ‘new beginnings.’ At the core pill shape, every beginning letter of Lloydminster Museum + Archives (LMA) is represented.

The logo may be presented in a number of arrangements, depending on the usage, including a ‘tagline lock-up’ version which includes the words ‘Art. History. Culture.’ below the primary text.
